Hello there and Happy New Year to you all. It’s 2014, and I know we’re only a few days in but I hope its working out for you all.
A new year. You can practically smell the cellophane it was wrapped in. A new year and with this year that is new comes renewed optimism, invigorated spirits, revived ideas, vajazzled ways of thinking, and a chocolate hangover the size of Siberia. So what better way to usher in the Año Nuevo than to read some posts of note by dad bloggers. Or, if you don’t like the terms ‘mummy bloggers’ and ‘dad bloggers’, how about writings by bloggers of the male persuasion?
My theme this month is ‘New’, as it’s a New Year (It’s not all thrown together you know), and so I’m featuring posts from Dads about new additions in their lives. New babies.
Awwwww, new babies. With their new baby smells and their new baby awesomeness. Believe it or not, underneath this rock-hard, tough and manly exterior lies a soft centre which goes terribly gooey whenever I see a new baby. So here are some stories of births and new babyness which I hope will fill you with that same warm fuzzy feeling.
I’ve yet to write my birth story, mainly because it was about 41 years ago and I don’t remember much. I remember being tired after the big move, and everyone talking to me like I was a baby, but I digress. Thinking back to when my children were born still makes me cry, and I feel in my very soul an emotion I can’t place but one that far outweighs any happiness I’ve ever felt. One day, maybe, I’ll write their birth story. For them. So T&K know just how incredible a moment it was. But I fear I could never put the joy I felt, and still feel, into words.
Anyhow, enough of my yakkin’ – get yourself a cuppa and pour yourself a biscuit and sit down to read these wonderfully warm and touching posts by some of the best bloggers with a Y chromosome out there. And give them all a good hard follow, if you don’t already.
And if you’re a blogger and an adult human male member of the population who also happens to be a parent, and if you’ve got a birth story to tell, then please link up in the comments section below.
Thanks for reading my waffle, now please read eight of the loveliest posts I’ve ever read. I kiss you all on both cheeks and wish you and yours a happy and healthy 2014.

It was nearly 4 years ago - and feels like longer - but I;m happy to oblige! Thanks for the opportunity.
