Ericka Waller, aka Mum in the South, has appeared as a speaker at BritMums Live, run a long-standing popular blog, made us laugh and nod knowingly, and now has written a book. Find out about her below — she needs your help! Ericka writes:
So winning a Bib award for best family blogger gave me the confidence I needed to commit time to writing a book. It was pretty scary. I hovered over the delete button on bad days, on good days I typed till my fingers were sore and I could still hear the keyboard clacking in my sleep.
I read it back and cringed. I still do.
But it’s done. It’s here… almost. At this years BritMums Live I met Murielle from Britain’s Next Best Seller. She persuaded me to submit my manuscript. I was hesitant as I’d had some NOs already and was feeling a bit tender. Then I remembered that an attitude like that will get me nowhere so I sent it off… and she loved it!
Information about the book and a promotional video is on the BNBS website. You can also read the first chapter, which hopefully you will like enough to want to pre-order the book. If I can achieve 250 pre-orders by the deadline I will be offered a publishing deal.
So here we go.. read, enjoy, share and please help fulfil a dream!
Confessions Of A Mother Inferior
Peta has three children under five, a job she hates and a tummy that looks like Jabba-The-Hut. Her (quirky) daughter has just started school and it’s not going very well. Her husband comes home less and less since employing his young blonde secretary and the only person she wants to talk about it all with is no longer around to hear her.
She tries to keep up with a village full of perfect mothers and happy marriages but quietly her chaotic world is falling apart by the second. Can she save it and herself in time?
