Bumps & Babies: Ending on a high note

Bumps and babies round-upHello… and festive greetings! How quickly has 2015 whizzed by?
I started the year with high hopes of finding my perfect job after leaving the bright lights of London for a chilled-out, suburban Solihull. Somehow I’m finishing the year five-and-a-half months pregnant. I say “somehow”, we all know how that happened! But it’s funny how life has a way of, well, getting in the way of plans.

However, I’m feeling giddy about having a newborn in the house again. I have such happy memories of the birth of my daughter (now 17-months-old) and those crazy/ hazy days of sleepless nights, endless nappy changes and blissful, milk-drunk cuddles.

I’ve been working fulltime for the past three months so had little time for blogging and mummy fun. I didn’t expect working five days a week to be so challenging. Hats off to all fulltime working mums – you are all superstars!! I sorely missed one-on-one time at home with my little girl, so plan to make up for lost time in January. I’m hoping to have a month off work to focus on being a mum again. If my husband’s reading this I’ll be “working” intermittently. Ahem. Shhhh. Moving on…

Here’s a selection of blogs I’ve enjoyed this month:

Lifestyle blogger Tiger Lily Quinn has just welcomed new daughter Mabli Kittiwake (pronounced Mab-lee Kitty-wake) into the world. I love Fritha’s blog, full of family life with an inspiring vintage twist and this month her Instagram has been packed with heart melting photos of her gorgeous two-weeks old. Happiness overload. Congratulations Tiger Lily!

I really enjoyed reading Your Pregnant Body – 20 Things They Don’t Tell You by Pregnant Chicken. It made me laugh out loud. Who said pregnancy was all sympathy and chocolates? This really is the reality.

The transition from baby to toddler seems to happen over night. One minute they’re bundles of cuteness crawling around your toes, the next they’re transformed into little Ninja menaces. If you’re entering Toddlerhood you’ll enjoy 10 Things To Do When Your Toddler Is Stressing You Out by Motherhood: The Real Deal. Tales of the good, the bad and the ugly.

Mealtimes became less fun and more challenging while I was working full-time. Luckily, I stumbled across Kid Food Ideas. Packed with some great recipes to inspire even the most kitchen-shy mums including finger foods, juices, vegetarian and vegan options, dairy free etc. Also mum-of-two Alyssa is expecting a baby any day now, she’s nearly hit the 40 weeks mark!

I couldn’t finish this month’s roundup without mentioning my favourite account on Instagram –  Raising Up Nine. A mum of nine, yep, you read that right, NINE. Crazy. If, like me, you’re a huge IG fan, Bee Kattmann and her brood will rock your world. I want to jump on a plane to North Carolina and live in their house filled with dogs, cats, hens and pigs. Her page is full of inspiration, kindness and photos to make your heart jump.

Merry Christmas, see you in 2016 🙂
