Brit Mums Live – Watch out here I come!

It seems so long ago now that I booked my ticket for Brit Mums Live and all of a sudden it’s countdown time again. Yippeee

Having recently met up with lots of bloggers at the fabulous CybHer conference I’m really looking forward to seeing those I missed there and plenty of new faces too.

Community is such a huge part of blogging and I’m hoping there are other mums out there who like me don’t always get back to comments left on their blog, those who can’t spend all day on Twitter creating wonderful relationships and always feel a bit of a misfit in the blogging world as if they’re only half there and constantly wishing they could do more.

I think it’s a brilliant idea to have the Butterflies this year and I urge anyone who’s feeling a bit overwhelmed to make your way over to these lovely ladies who will be prominently standing by the cakes and tea, they will take your fears away and point you in the right direction too.

I shall be lending the Brit Mums Live! team a hand too this year. I am the Very Important Room Monitor In Charge of Room 4 which means you shall all bow to me in reverence as you enter the door and slip a gin and tonic in my hand. Ok it doesn’t mean that but it does mean I get to introduce the speakers, pass the mic around the floor, look pretty and be massively important. Ok maybe not massively important but I shall be watching you all like a hawk…

Rules of Room 4

  • No throwing peanuts/paper bombs around the room
  • No sticking chewing gum under the chairs
  • When I have to do my Fire Exit bit YOU LISTEN (it’s my moment)
  • Hands up nicely if you have a question to ask the panel so I can see you
  • When I say time is up. It Is Up.

Got it? Cool, then we can be friends then

I’m bringing Kate with me, she’s a Red Duck I got from Chasing Ducks and the idea is that you take photos of her when you’re out and about I’ve taken her on a few of our holidays but now it’s time to pass her over to fresh hands. She has a huge sticker on her back with a code and the blog address and by using that information you can access Kate’s page and become her new guardian. Keep an eye out for her.

Tips of mine for enjoying a conference to the max?

  1. Bring a pashmina/shawl/cardigan in case the A-con is a little too energetic
  2. Drink plenty of water, it’s easy to forget when you’re so busy and then you won’t get tipsy on your first glass of wine at the bar like I do 😉
  3. Check the schedule before arriving, have a good idea of what you’d like to listen to and use your time well
  4. Bring business cards give them to everyone!
  5. Remember everyone is as nervous/excited as you, jump in and ENJOY your day

Please do come and say hello as I love meeting new faces.
