That’s the feeling we all want to have when we look at our blogs every day. This year at BritMums Live we’re delighted to announce a brand new module on the schedule that is all about good design and creating a gorgeous blog and brand. Best of all, it’s a hands-on experience, broken into Beginner and Advanced sessions, led by two completely awesome photography and design experts!
The Define Your Design module is curated by Lucy Heath of Capture by Lucy (top), whose gorgeous blog and photography has won her awards (including the 2014 Photo BiB) and our undying love and admiration.
What you’ll do in Define Your Design Workshops
Define Your Design is all about distilling your personal vision for your blog into an online identity you can implement. The sessions are organised around creating an actual mood board — real, not virtual — while Lucy and Annie lead you through the process, answering your questions and dispensing sage advice.
Because of how hands-on these sessions are, they will have a limited number of spaces and be bookable in advance (more details on how and when you can reserve your space will be announced soon). You can only book one session, either the Beginning or Advanced.

Define Your Design – Beginning
This session is for those who are beginning to get a handle on their blog’s design. It will focus on understanding the basic principles of good design and implementing them. In the session, you’ll develop your personal colour palette, identify your fonts and basic layout as well as get tips on how to organise and populate your sidebar.
Define Your Design – Advanced
The advanced session is designed for bloggers ready to incorporate their design into a larger branding project. It will focus on how to use blog design design and extend it through everything you’re doing, from your email signature to Pinterest and more, creating one coherent design identity. Expect tips for using WordPress, Blogger or Squarespace. how to use design for larger branding and how to choose photos so they reflect your design.
