Craft Round-up: The Autumn edition

I don’t know about you, but I haven’t had much time for crafting these past few weeks what with the schools going back.  I’ve also been all-consumed with foraging, grabbing all the blackberries I can while they’re here. But they will soon be gone and my thoughts will turn to autumnal and Halloween crafts.

So here’s my pick from some fabulous bloggers of ones I want to try:

Before the weather turns nasty, here is a lovely idea from Annie at Mammasaurus with a how-to make a dream catcher in the woods.  A perfect activity for soaking up these last sunny days.

Jen at Love Chic Living made some beautiful slate tile bunting with her girls to adorn the garden.  I love the idea of decorating the veg patch this way.

Kelly and her girls over at Domestic Goddesque have been out gathering leaves and seeds to make this glorious autumn nature wreath – wouldn’t that just brighten up your front door beautifully?

And if you don’t feel like braving the outdoors, our bloggers have some fabulous seasonal indoor craft ideas.

Mum of One shows us how to create an amazing play car from a cardboard box.  We all know kids generally prefer to play with the packaging than the toy at birthdays so this is a brilliant rainy day idea – very thrifty too!

George at Craftulate has made some delicious scented playdoh with herbs and spices – I bet the cocoa and cinnamon ones smell amazing.

Jennifer’s Little World have been celebrating Diwali and have made these eye-catching Hama bead decorations based on traditional designs.  Hama beads are very much on my to-do list!

Rebecca at Here Come the Girls has been making hand-print wreaths.  Using autumnal colours it’s so clever how they look like real leaves.  A great idea to try with younger kids.

Another hand print idea comes from Emmy’s Mummy with this brilliant hand and foot print autumn tree.  I bet the kids had SO much fun getting messy with that creation!

The Fairy and the Frog has made some adorably cuddly pompom owls and owl babies.  I love the idea of using them as story props too to really make the tale come to life.  So cute.

Talking of cute critters, Zing Zing Tree has made these adorable cardboard woodland animals.  I love the clever take on mounting the heads on a plinth – so much more humane!

And thinking ahead to Halloween (it’s really not that far away), the superb Red Ted Art has this very clever loo roll bat pinata which would be perfect for parties or even to hand out to trick or treaters.  She also has a whole host of no-sew costume ideas, so get planning!  She’s so clever that Red Ted Art – she’s even branching out in German.

And finally, Pink Oddy has a great idea for designing spooky pumpkin paper plates.  A great craft to practise your designs on, or for kids too young to carve real pumpkins.
