BritMums Blogger of the Week: Capture by Lucy

Phew! The giant, garden-sized Union flag is done…just in time for the Jubilee! I’m so glad I persevered with it despite the looks from my neighbours. Who’s going to win the “Best Decorated House in the Village” contest now, eh? I know, you’re jealous.

Having a bit more time on my hands, I’ve been able to wax melodic about the joys of the blogging community. One of the best parts of bestowing the Blogger of the Week “title” on a new blogger each week is finding new and exciting blogs to read and become inspired by. I’m amazed every week to find new blogs that I’ve never heard of but who are creating lovely things. This week’s BritMums Blogger of the Week has been an avid participant in the #SnapHappyBritMums photo challenge for the month of May. In fact, she’s so avid that she’s actually done EVERY SINGLE ONE of the 31 prompts! Felicitations to Lucy from Capture by Lucy!

Well hello there, thank you so much for having a peek into my little life!

I’m a girl who met a boy at school, went off to University met some life long friends and 8 years later married the boy from school. 4 years later our big boy burst into our lives and we fell in love all over again but with a chubby 8lb 5oz slightly squished bruiser. Without any hesitation we made a wish at my sister’s fabulous wedding nearly 2 years later and in July 2011 our small boy came into our world and made our family complete.

This is my tale of life as Queen of my castle with my two stinking but gorgeous boys, a work from home husband and our two westies Mabel and Moose. He said in our wedding speech “We have been together for as long as I can remember” and that is the truth, I can’t really think what life was like before I was his Mrs.

The best advice I can think to give is write a blog as if no one was reading it. Some days that might be true but other days I might just touch a few people and they can touch me back with their tales of taking on the world!

I also really adore Lucy’s pictures on the “All About Me” page…so sweet and heart-warming. And I have to say, if the picture of Lucy and her 2nd baby was really taken 4 hours after birth…you look WAY too good Mama!

This weekend I am hosting my daughter’s 4th birthday party. I’m totally coveting the party favours in The Perfect Party Part 4. Perhaps Lucy will come to ours for the party?? You’ve also got to check out Lucy’s Knitted Fruit which fills her boys’ market stall at home. What a genius idea! Thanks for the suggestion Lucy! Be sure to check out Sammy’s Store as well…I’m so jealous and am very much considering escaping to Lucy’s house. It looks like there’s an awful lot of fun that goes on there!
