I’ve been blogging for exactly two years and it amazes me to look back and see how much my blog has evolved in that time.
Possibly the biggest revelation to me as a newbie blogger was that there was such a thing as the blogging community and within that, the parent blogging community, and within that the BritMums community! And the sense of belonging to these communities is fantastic.
My blog started out very much as a parenting blog, my daughter still had the vestiges of babyhood and my world revolved around parenting her.
But over time and particularly in the last few months I’ve introduced a wider variety of posts and the blog is much more lifestyle these days. It wasn’t a conscious decision; it just started to happen that way.
I recently caught up with my fellow bloggers Zaz from Mama and More and Georgie from City Girl At Heart and we had a heart to heart on the subject of the focus of our blogs and we agreed that, yes, we love being part of the parenting community, yes we love being parents, but we also revel in the non-parent parts of our lives and our blogs reflect this.
So, we decided that as a way to celebrate this we’d love to start up a new Link & Pin Party to showcase the non-parenting moments in all of our lives and the lives of our blogging community.
So here I am, two years into blogging and about to start on a collaboration with two people whose paths I wouldn’t have crossed if I hadn’t become part of the parent blogging community.
That party is the #AllAboutYou Link & Pin Party which launches on 7th January. It’s a chance for us all to focus on experiencing and posting about anything that focuses on us rather than our parent selves.
It might be an opinion, a passion, style, something you’ve accomplished or something you are working on. As long as it has you at the heart of it we’d love you come link & pin with us!
The three of us hope you’ll join in with #AllAboutYou and that it brings an enjoyable extra element to an already wonderful blogging community.
