My Best Post of The Week >> Add yours!

MBPWbadge250I met with a couple of blogging friends for lunch this week at a shopping centre central to us all and making the most of my time I turned up early to do a bit of Christmas shopping.

Now I thought I was ahead of everyone else. As I parked the car I smiled to myself at how organised and clever I was being. With my list in my pocket and two hours to kill I headed into the centre and blow me if half of England hadn’t had the same idea!

I was shunted around as I tried to chose my gifts by other shoppers eager to pick up their wares from the shelves before I did. I had a pushchair rolled over my foot with a screaming kid in it – too old for the pushchair but too young for pre-school. Mum did apologise and she looked a lot worse for wear than me so I smiled at her and moved away from her and her noisy son.

And then my arms full of bits and bobs – none of which were actually on my To Buy list but picked up by the temptation of so many gorgeous products out there – I spotted a queue, a really long queue snaking back through homewear.

Again, being really clever I thought ‘Ha! I’ll go to menswear, they are never that busy.’ and there I joined another endless queue backing up through the suits, the socks and some very nice Christmas cards placed right by the till…

*Sigh* it’s that time of year, I may do the rest of my shopping online, how about you?

My #MBPW this week has to be the announcement of the Tesco Mum of The Year shortlist for 2014. Over 30 mums up and down the UK have been nominated, all of them are true heros and deserve our attention as the judges have the incredibly difficult decision of selecting the finalists.

I know most find it boring but I find that doing my Christmas online saves me money, time and helps skipping the stressful levels to a minimum.

Saves money without a doubt, I spent £50 that day and without ticking off a single present on the list!!

I can just imagine what that felt like! I am strictly an online girl nowadays, but inevitably get lured in for last minute panic buying at the very end!!

And there is something about mooching around a shop with Christmas music and temptation before your eyes that appeals to me every single year *sigh*

I did the same 2 weeks ago Mari - went to the Trafford Centre at 6pm on a Saturday evening (they were open till 9!) thinking I was really clever because NO-ONE is going to be shopping on a Saturday night in early November and it turns out most of the North-West was there! Still managed to tick off a few pressies tho!!

Every pressie ticked off the list is good but I have started buying online this week - it makes life so much easier!

The Tesco Mum of the Year awards are fabulous, but I wish all the Mums could get an award. The Mums on the shortlist are all amazing and inspirational.
