My Best Post of The Week >> Add yours!

MBPWYou know what my late father always said to me? ‘Never count your chickens until they’re hatched.’ and never has it proven to be such good advice as this week. I miss you Dad.

You may remember that last week I mentioned my family were lucky enough to be one of the final three families for a fantastic competition, I asked for your votes and for those of you voted I thank you from the bottom of my heart but I got the phone call to say that we weren’t successful and I cannot tell you how gutted I was – AM.

One of the amazing eye openers for me this week is the sheer amount of people who took the time to vote for us, it was neck and neck all week and a massive burst which came from all over the world – we have family in Italy and Spain, we have friends in Australia, South Africa and the States, they bumped us into prime spot as the votes closed.

At that point I allowed myself to dream, could it really happen? I have only read of winners in magazines, in fact I never enter competitions as I think to myself ‘I’ll never win that.’ but this time I gave it a go, I thought long and hard and I went for it.

But that’s life isn’t it? Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose and it’s at this point that I look to my mother for her famous words

‘Pick yourself up, dust yourself down and start all over again.’

BritMums members, be happy this weekend, hug your husband/partner a little tighter, get off the computer, put your smart phones away and play with the kids. Enjoy life because it’s funny old world and you never know what tomorrow has in store.

Let me read your My Best Post of The week, I need some cheering up. I’m wallowing in my disappointment – I think I’m allowed to and everything will be so much brighter in the morning, I promise. Add it to the Linky below and have a wonderful week.

Thank you once again to everyone who took time to vote for us and a huge congratulations to the Farmer Family, you have an amazing year ahead.

I'm so sorry to hear that your family was not selected, their loss, not yours... Something bigger and better will be just around the corner

What a trooper you are Mari, so impressed that you're still on here keeping MBPW going even when you must be feeling so disappointed and desperate to spend time with your family.

The decision is a bad one, but it's more their loss than yours, I'm convinced of it. You would have been a real asset to RC, but do you really want to be associated with a company that care more about advertising that integrity? I think not. There is something bigger, brighter and more deserving of the Weekes Family just around the corner xxx
