Easter, Spring, sunshine, flowers, longer days, chocolate – maybe too much chocolate but it’s happy days ahead everyone.
It’s shorts and t shirts, it’s BBQ’s and outside fun, oh and it’s April which could mean April showers, in fact there have been some Aprils that have seen snow and with our weird weather who knows what the Easter break has in store?
Fact is the kids are off school, houses are about to get messy, there will be late nights, tantrums, arguing and ice cream because that always works in our house. There will be fun, joy and laughter, kids going to bed unwashed because they’re flaked out and anyway we can wash them in the morning right?
Some may be going away for the entire holiday others, like us, will be staying home and having days out. Talking of which last weekend we went to Ascot, it was my first time ever there and I loved it. We placed bets on horses having no idea what we were doing and a couple came in! The horses are beautiful and it was a perfect family day out, in case you’re worrying it was smart casual, no hats required, so My Best Post of The Week has to be Ascot Racecourse and I would thoroughly recommend a trip their one day, check out the family days.

All linked in, and early for once! I agree the next two (well actually, for us it is nearly three) weeks Easter Holiday will be full of noise, chaos, dirt and laughter. Everything will be put off 'until tomorrow' because it can. Released are the shackles of 6am starts, packed lunches and making sure there is a wearable jumper in the appropriate colour. Then when it all starts again, I will be glad of it!
We went to a family day at Ascot three years ago now (Three? Really? Where did that time go?!) and I have the fondest memories of it. We had the most wonderful time and it was all WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE! The staff were so helpful to us. It was the most glorious day weather wise too. It was one of those days that made me feel really proud to be British.
