Beauty Round-up: how to build confidence

beauty roundup blog postsIt’s all about confidence.

You can look a million dollars, but if you don’t feel it then it just isn’t going to work. It doesn’t matter how much money you do, or don’t, spend, if you still don’t feel confident you won’t look nearly as good as the girl that’s spent half as much on clothes and beauty products but is comfortable in her own skin.

How do you get confidence?

In my case it starts with beginning to feel like myself again. After 10 years of being a wife and mother I had gained 2 stone. In just one month I have lost 7 pounds. How I started to build confidence is revealed over on my blog later this week. The fact that it has coincided with trialling a new conditioner that is working wonders on my hair is also helping!

How have the rest of the Britmums community been feeling confident?

Emma at Crazy with Twins has been feeling very much the “super mum” during her trial of Mum Kind products including lozenges, cereal bars and water enhancer all full of vitamins and specifically designed for pregnant ladies and new mums. With all that energy buzzing around your system you’d have no choice but to feel confident!

Often confidence can simply be about not being uncomfortable or in pain. Nicci at BubbaLoves has been trialling a new cream for Psoriasis by Dermalex . If you suffer from this you may want to check it out. The results look promising.

Want to help some of your friends feel more confident and give them a well earned treat? How about hosting an at-home spa day once the kids are at school? Spa day instructions are courtesy of JuggleMum and I love the “breakfast in a wine glass” plan! Can I come along to the next one please?

Feeling great is all about the skin over at Beauty Alchemy. Rachel has been testing out Clayspray – a pore refining clay mask for face. It sounds well worth a try. After all this heat a cooling clay mask sounds just the ticket.

I don’t know about you, but for me confidence is really closely related to how white, or not in my case, my teeth are. Liz at The Mum Blog has tried teeth whitening a few times and the most recent results are over at The One with the teeth whitening. I have been promising myself I’d try this for ages and still never have. It’s on the list!

And that’s it for this month lovely readers. I hope you enjoy the selection. If you have any other beauty tips or products to help us all look and feel our best drop me a line.

About Louise Yummymummy

Louise started writing her blog Yummy Mummy? Really? after becoming a mum and discovering that it was harder than ever to keep looking yummy. Louise is a self-confessed late starter when it comes to beauty treatments and only started wearing make-up 5 years ago after the birth of her first daughter. She blogs both about her attempts to stay looking yummy; with posts on everything from electrolysis to home work-outs; and what she’s learnt as a mummy; from how to change a nappy, what kit you need to feed on the go, and how to avoid toddler tantrums!
