Beauty Round-up: Autumn beauty tips

beauty roundup 610 sliderThe moment the nights begin to draw in, the leaves tumble elegantly from the trees, the heating judders back into action after a well deserved summer break and we start to consider swopping back to the winter duvet, the inevitable happens; the lips start to chap and the hands suddenly feel like paper mâché.

We spend all summer whittling about dry skin, and desperately slathering on the sun cream, only to approach winter with the exact same concerns.

Clearly my mother would point out that I wouldn’t need to worry so much about moisturising dry skin if I drank enough water to moisturise from the inside. She doesn’t believe in coffee. But since I can’t survive the day without at least four cups full, then it’s going to have to be moisturisers to which I turn.

Here are the best of this month’s beauty product reviews and the top autumn beauty tips from BritMums bloggers to help!

ET speaks from home have reviewed the Dettol E45 Softness hand wash.

Rachel at Beauty Alchemy suggests her best 14 moisturising skin care products for winter skin survival. Yes, that’s right. Not just 1, but 14!

Don’t stop wearing sun cream just because it’s winter. Luci at Mother Wife Me tells us why.

Sophia’s Choice review the Pinks Boutique Organic Hand Balms, which sound divine.

It’s Drops of Youth serum that is getting tested over at Toxylicious which claims it instantly moisturises. Find out if Toxi agrees.

Charlotte is off on her hols and provides the ultimate packing list for face, body, hair etc over at write like no-one’s watching

If you need a bit of colour to counter the dark skies, try Maybelline Colour Show Nail Polish reviewed by Lauren over at The Real Housewife of Suffolk County.

Whilst a good trip to the hair salon will cheer anyone up, especially when it looks as nice as The House of Rush. Liz at The Mum Blog has me jealous again!

And last, but not least, The Busy Mum’s Guide to Make-Up just had to get a mention. This one is curtesy of Kerrie at Wife, Mum, Student Bum.

That’s it for this time folks, I hope you have plenty of new products to add to your wish lists. Remember, Christmas is fast approaching, so write that list and maybe Santa will oblige.

About Louise Yummymummy

Louise started writing her blog Yummy Mummy? Really? after becoming a mum and discovering that it was harder than ever to keep looking yummy. Louise is a self-confessed late starter when it comes to beauty treatments and only started wearing make-up 5 years ago after the birth of her first daughter. She blogs both about her attempts to stay looking yummy; with posts on everything from electrolysis to home work-outs; and what she’s learnt as a mummy; from how to change a nappy, what kit you need to feed on the go, and how to avoid toddler tantrums!

Great advice, isn’t it funny that beauty processes and treatments can vary from different times of the year!

When you think about it it makes sense the weather, humidity, indoor heating and cooling all affect our skin and hair.
