A letter from the Editor

Growing up I adored buying and reading glossy magazines. Even as a pre-teen I would get my weekly fix of Jackie, Blue Jeans and Just Seventeen, and as I grew, I went for the teenage girls staple of the ’90’s: More! Magazine before graduating on to the women’s glossies.

Every issue I would read from cover to cover including the piece right at the start of each magazine – the ‘Letter from the Editor’. One day, I promised myself, I would write one of those letters for myself. That day is now!

Nadine Hill at BritMums Live 2015Whilst I am not working in fashion magazines as I had thought at that young age, I have enjoyed working as the Editor of the Britmums blog for four years. It has been an amazing ride, I have loved meeting and getting to know so many bloggers during this time, and am especially grateful to BritMums’ founders Jen and Susanna for putting me in charge of the blog. BritMums is the UK’s original influencer network and continues to lead the online conversation and I have no doubt that it will go from strength to strength in the coming years. After today I am leaving my role as Blog Editor at BritMums.

BritMums Live 2015The ‘pastures new’ that I am leaving for is a return to the ‘9 to 5’ world. I have worked from home for 14 years whilst raising my children and feel proud that I was able to keep the juggle going all that time, both earning money for the family whilst attending every sports day, assembly, nativity play and whatever else the children took part in. Now we are all entering a new life stage as they are becoming more independent, looking forward to choosing and starting to follow their own career path and now I have the freedom and time to re-focus on mine.

As for my own blog, JuggleMum, I have been slowly retreating from publishing personal updates for a while now, respecting that as my children grew they didn’t want to be featured, so my platform has been less ‘about me and us’ and more about mums juggling life in general.

Social media has been a way to make many friends online and keep in touch, and I will continue to update my channels. You can keep up with me on my favourite platforms: Instagram and Twitter.

Thank you for reading.

Love, Nadine

About Nadine Hill

Nadine is a marketer, digital creator and ex BritMums Editor who started blogging in the mid 2000’s whilst working from home around her young family.
Her blog JuggleMum won an award for video and covered many lifestyle subjects from fashion to food to entrepreneurship whilst also inspiring content creation for her YouTube channel @MrsNadineHill.
Nadine loves hanging out with her teenage children who keep her (mostly) current – although apparently no-one says ‘hanging out’ any more!
When she’s not with her family she’s at the gym or in a coffee house in Yorkshire somewhere (she’s been to most of them!) – photographing her cappuccino for the grid.

How lovely – thanks Jenny! It’s true, it doesn’t cost us anything to be warm and welcoming and it means so much. I appreciate it when I’m on the receiving end too so you’re welcome!
