There’s nothing quite like a burger to make a family meal fun. In our latest sponsored project, BritMums and Rustler’s challenged parents to hack their Southern Fried Chicken Burger, creating meals that are personalised and perfectly suited to their tastes.
So in keeping with the ‘southern’ theme, we created this Tex-Mex Burger!
It’s really easy to do. We picked up a few items from Tesco and — yeehaw — we turned the chicken burger into something really special.
Here’s our recipe:
- Rustler’s Southern Fried Chicken Burger
- Cheddar Cheese Slices
- Sour Cream
- Tortilla Chips
We heated the burgers in the oven on 180C for 10 minutes until crispy and toasted the buns. (Want something even speedier? You can just chuck the burgers in the microwave for 90 seconds.) We layered lettuce on the bottom bun, then the crispy burger, a slice of cheddar cheese, avocado, salsa and sour cream.
Serve chips and salsa on side and you’re ready for a southern western treat!
Have you tried Rustlers burgers? Tell us how you make them their own in the comments!
