A word of praise must be mentioned to everyone who was shortlisted in the 2013 Brilliance in Blogging awards

A round of applause must go to the six who made the Finalist stage voted by their readers and their blogging peers, they are the shining blogs of 2013.

And a massive congratulations must be shouted out to the winners of our 16 categories in the Brilliance in Blogging 2013 awards.

Different areas go into making up a winning BiB blog and the judges paid special attention to the aesthetics, the quality of the content, the voice of the blog as well as exceptional quality in each category.

This award celebrates the newbies in the blogging world. The blogger’s actual age doesn’t figure; rather it’s their fresh approach to blogging and social media – with content, pictures, video and voice that makes the rest of us take notice. Blog should be less than 18 months old, or recently relaunched.

VitamixFood

The award for blogs good enough to eat. These nominees have a knack for writing about food, recipes and the rituals of eating. Yum!

Blogging is cheaper than therapy (not that we would know). And sometimes sharing (over sharing?) family life stories can be a very satisfying process. These bloggers let it rip when it comes to writing about family life.

This is for all you fashion and beauty lovers. To paraphrase Coco Chanel, a fashion blogger’s site should be two things: classy and fabulous. Bloggers in this category have both.
