Finding a source of entertainment for young children that doesn’t cost the earth is a constant challenge for parents. Let’s face it, during the school holidays and often at weekends we’re desperately looking for ways to get them out of the house and keep them gainfully occupied without draining our finances. It’s an even harder challenge during cold and wet weather.
Thankfully McDonald’s have stepped in with some fun family activities which are absolutely free at participating restaurants around the UK. We’re working with them in a paid relationship to spread the word about their family events which consist of Family Fun Days, a full day of activities, balloon modelling and face painting, and Character Visits, where kids can meet the stars of the current Happy Meal. We sent three of our discerning bloggers off to enjoy some lunch and a character visit, and report back. Here’s how they got on:
Katy at What Katie Said took her daughter Gracie along to meet Super Mario. The look on Gracie’s face in this photo says it all doesn’t it? Mum Katy was impressed and really appreciated the free event included colouring, stickers and certificates for the kids to take home, which she thought was a nice touch.
Samantha at North East Family Fun and some of her friends and family met Dracula and Mavis from Hotel Transylvania 3 at their local McDonald’s. As a parent she loved that the games were inclusive to all. “Nobody was forced to take part yet staff ensured everyone who wanted to was able to have a turn.” You can see just how much fun they had in their vlog below:
Lastly, Caro at The Twinkle Diaries took her twin boys along to hang out with the Angry Bird, Red, at their local McDonald’s. “The Happy Crew managed to tame over 20 excitable children — ranging in age from 5 to 12 — and keep them all entertained, with games and activities. It was like watching the Pied Piper in action; the kids were spellbound. But the noise levels were FEROCIOUS!”
