Pinterest: DIY projects

Temperatures in Britain hit 29C for eight days in a row at the end of June and the beginning of July. In fact as I’m writing this it’s predicted that this Summer will be the hottest since 1976. With all the good weather we are having now is the time to catch up on those DIY projects that have been pushed aside. Although please do take care if you are out in the sun.

For this month’s Pinterest Round-up I’m focussing on DIY projects that are being completed around the home or garden. We have finally finished our weekend DIY project, building a chicken coop and run and is home to three hens!

Bedroom Makeovers

Kicking us off is Stevie from A Cornish Mum with her son’s box room bedroom makeover. Stevie’s pin is bright, bold and eye-catching. Including her blog name and URL means it identifiable back to her. Janet over at Falcondale Life also has completed a bedroom makeover. Her freshly designed pin shows what they have achieved with grey, marble and copper for the bedroom. Emma from Emma Reed has chosen to upcycle pine furniture for her nursery. Her pin tells us exactly what her post is about and shows us her newly upcycled pine furniture

Kids Area

Kate who blogs at The Less-Refined Mind has this great idea of turning the area underneath the stairs into a den for little ones and what to include in the space. Her pin for this project suggests a girly den with the floaty pink lights and butterflies. This is pleasing to the eye and gives you an idea about the post if you click through. Vicki from Mumma and her Monsters has a pin dedicated to building your own DIY Barbie house it shows her little girl playing with the finished project.

An outdoor activity for little ones would be like this pin on Emma Reed’s blog. It’s for a toddler garden, which is made from a wooden box. Rebecca from Becster.com has this excellent pin on making your own DIY teepee for the garden. Her pin is of a classic design showing the step by steps needed to build a teepee.

Indoor Garden

Last up I’m sharing with you my favourite DIY pin find. Becky from Pinks Charming is trying her hand at gardening and has made this indoor salad garden from an old cot side. This is fantastic as its recycling as well! Her pin shows the fresh herbs she has grown with her brand colour, URL and logo. Instantly recognisable as her own pin.
