Family Days Out Round-up: March mayhem

I hope you all enjoyed half term and the snow that unexpectedly turned up at the beginning of the month. Whilst it did cause some problems, we certainly made sure we made the most of it before it disappeared again.

Snowy Fun

What did you get up to in the snow?

We dug our unused sledges out of the shed and made the most of our local park and its slopes for some sledging fun. Coombe Mill enjoyed seeing the animals on the farm playing in the snow as it is so unusual for them to have it and Little Hearts Big Love asked the kids “do you want to build a snowman?“.

Four Acorns saw a different side to storm Emma and headed to watch the waves lashing the coast in a blizzard, Mothers Little Steps enjoyed a snowball fight with little T and Over 40 Mum to One headed for Ashridge National Trust estate to see it in its snowy glory.

Indoor Half Term Fun

Of course, not everyone enjoys the cold and there were some lovely indoor days out happening throughout the country.

The Strawberry Fountain headed to Torquay’s Dinosaur World for some jurassic fun and we headed into Dorchester to meet the Natural History Museum’s famous diplodocus cast who is visiting as part of his Dippy On Tour travels. Also going back in time were Cardiff Mummy Says who got craft at St Fagan’s National Museum of History and Zena’s Suitcase who learned all about Pirates at Pirate Quest in Newquay.

Momma Mack had fun meeting Thomas, Bob and Sam at Mattel Play in Liverpool and also enjoyed a trip to Coventry Transport Museum, where they saw everything from bikes to super cars. My Boys Club enjoyed a spot of intergalactic crazy golf at Space Golf in Newcastle and LesbeMums released their inner child at Brighton’s Toy and Model Museum.

Getting Out and About

Days out involving animals are always fun and we braved the monkey’s and took a drive through Woburn Safari Park and Tin Box Traveller has the same idea, but headed to Longleat for their safari experience. My Mummy’s World discovered the hidden delights of Twycross Zoo, BubbaBlue and Me headed for ZSL Whipsnade Zoo, Plutonium Sox braved the piranhas at the National Sealife Aquarium, Back with a Bump visited Meadow Farm and A Cornish Mum headed to Gweek to meet the residents of the Cornish Seal Sanctuary.

Despite the freezing weather at the beginning of the month, we have also enjoyed some mild sunny days too and Juggling on Rollerskates has been enjoying some of the activities on offer at Bedgebury Pinetum, Over 40 Mum to One also enjoyed a sunny day running free at Upton House, Bubba Blue and Me had fun at Emberton Country Park and Hot Pink Wellingtons went snowdrop hunting at Welford Park.

The Great Brick Safari has been visiting various locations all around the UK and Cardiff Mummy Says found it at Mermaid Quay in Cardiff. Theme Parks have started opening their doors again and Birds and Lilies managed to find Duggee for a hug at CBeebiesland in Alton Towers, Dear Mummy Blog saw Peppa and friends and the new Little Africa area at Paultons Park and Our Bucketlist Lives headed to Twinlakes Family Theme Park.

Hope you enjoyed this months round-up, if you have any posts you would like to add, please send them to me for next month.

Love this post! Need to defo go Alton Towers Cbeebies Land – I always hear lovely reviews for it. I live in London and we’d got some great events down at Stratford childrens story centre and the Horniman museum this Easter too. 🙂
