If you’re a savvy shopper (and you’ve got a bit of room in your loft), then you’ll be on the lookout for heavily reduced Christmas presents for this year!
In years gone by I’ve managed to do almost half my Christmas shopping in January, but with two kids and no spare inch of loft space, I’m struggling a little.
I do, however, manage to pick up the odd pressie here and there – and find a spot at the back of my wardrobe.
As a rule of thumb, the best items to buy in the sale shopping (where you can make the most savings) are:
- Festive jumpers
- Cards/Gift Wrap
- Non-perishable gifts
So, let’s take a look at some of your sales shopping…
First up is a TAM Beauty Haul from Met A Baby Cow, who managed to bag some great products in the sale over the festive season.
They included Eyeshadow Palettes from £3.25 and single eyeshadows from 90p to reduced priced moisture cream and blusher and lip products. I’m not much of a beauty buyer myself, but even I was impressed with the great products she picked up.
Meanwhile, Carol from Family Makes was a savvy shopper when she picked up a mini haul from Poundland.
Spending just over £20, she picked up a few family essentials such as cleaning products, bathroom goodies, plus a few treats for the family – if they’re well behaved – or just lucky!
Speaking of getting lucky, Joanne from Opposable Thumbs won £25 in John Lewis vouchers for taking part in the BritMums survey and spent it on this colourful hat.
It was originally £50 and was reduced to £25, so she only paid £3.50 on the postage.
Back to Primark and Laura from Musings of A Tired Mummy enjoyed a savvy shopper haul from three shops – Primark, Poundland and Superdrug.
She spent a grand total of £55, but picked up some super goodies.
As well as the everyday household essentials, her other bargains included some in-trays from Poundland for £1 each, a long-sleeve top from Primark for just a couple of quid and some make-up and skincare products – including a holographic lipstick for just 50 pence!
Finally, in Superdrug she picked up some of the store’s own day and night creams, plus some serums, eye cream and a couple of body scrubs from their Natural collection – for the grand total of less than £35.
With so many bargains out there on the High Street, it’s time to get some comfy walking shoes on and get out there to grab the bargains.
Speaking of shoes, I’ll leave you to mull over a lovely post from Nadine Hill of JuggleMum, who had the pleasure of nabbing herself a pair of Hotter boots for some pre-Christmas shopping.
I’m actually in love with the boots she chose – the Pixie – with their soft and slouchy suede look – it’s right up my street. Plus Nadine managed to bag herself and a friend some VIP treatment in store, which was probably the icing on the cake on her shopping trip!
In next month’s round-up I’ll be sharing some of your more romantic purchases, with February being the month of love! Email your links to email@example.com – or you can join the #SnappedUp Linky where I’ll be checking out your purchases and giving away a Blogging journal for someone to win!
