Happiness Round-up: Happiness is a New Year

Happy New Year everyone! It feels like just yesterday that we were happily decking the halls, watching our little ones Christmas shows (trying not to cry) and letting our elfs on a shelf create absolute havoc in our homes. Speaking of which, did yours end up back at the North Pole? Our rule breaker managed to twist Santa’s arm and convince him to let the little trickster stay again. Yikes.

In a blink we are now racing through January, the month of two halves. Does anyone else feel that little downwards dip after the excitement of Christmas? I did this year, but it’s full steam ahead now as we start making our plans for the months ahead of us, because after all happiness is a brand new year. And just think of all those possibilities. Here’s what some of our favourite bloggers have been getting up to.

Happy Bumps and Birthday Babes

What’s not to love about happy bumps in January and the hope that each of these little bundles will bring for the future. Parent’s to be Jenny from Let’s Talk Mommy, Abi from Something About Baby and Dave from DADventurer chat about the fuzzy joys of 2nd trimesters, 3rd trimesters and nesting.

It will be all go pretty soon for these lovely bloggers. So don’t forget to stop by to catch up on their new arrivals. And talking of new arrivals, can we shout out a big congratulations to Emma from Life According to Mrs Shilts on the arrival of Baby Freddie. The cuteness!

New Year’s bring around birthdays, and what better way to mark the occasions than thoughtful birthday letters to the babes and beyond. Tim from Slouching Towards Thatcham and Grainne from Mother Almost Never Knows Best let us have a peek at theirs.

Holiday Dreams

No matter how dreary January is, there’s one thing guaranteed to kick start all those happies. Planning a holiday! Donna from What The Read Head Said whisks us down memory lane and proves that if hold your dreams tight enough, you might just be lucky enough to finally get your Florida Dream. I’m so excited for Donna and can’t wait to hear how it all goes.

The Stuff That Happies Are Made Of

I always joke that happiness can be found in the little things. More often than not these are precious moments, but let’s not beat around the bush. Us parents do love a bit of ME time with our stuff as Emma from Brummy Mummy Of 2 tells us in 15 basic things that make her happy. Think fresh dressing gowns, pants and bath bombs! But not all at the same time.

Happiness Is A Break Though

Sometimes, something as trivial as going to school can manifest itself into utter heartbreak for a family. Especially for those who tirelessly go to the ends of the world and beyond looking for a solution. Desperate for their child to be able to skip off into school, happy and without reservation. After months of despair, Laura’s little Eva from Five Little Doves has finally found happiness at school after an incredible break through thanks to a very special teacher. *Grab those tissues for the happy tears, you’ll need them!
