I, on the other hand, have to be quite careful about revealing what presents I’ve bought on the blog or vlog; now that my kids are older, they’ve started taking more of an interest in my videos.
In fact, I got caught out in this video by my daughter, who watched it and told me she liked what I’d bought her for Christmas – oops. Good job it was just a couple of stocking fillers!
Deck the halls…
So in-between finding those last-minute Christmas gifts, like me you’ve probably been picking up some cool new Christmas decorations. And the shops have been filled with amazing Christmas themed displays and accessories.
Georgia from Georgia Rubyy Beauty picked up a super range of Christmas decorations – from The Range and Tesco.
She did make me laugh on her video though when she was showcasing a pack of ‘luxury Christmas cards’, saying that she’ll only be sending them to her favourite people.
She then realised that ALL her family and friends would most likely be watching her video and wondering if they were going to get one of the cards!
Also kitting her tree out with new decorations was Michaela from Aurelia Blush.
Highlights of her shopping haul (from shops including Next, John Lewis and Zara Home) included a four-pack of Polar Bear Christmas tree decorations from Asda for £4 and a set of four gold shaker filled baubles for £8 from Next.
Someone else who managed to grab a festive haul was Kerry from Kerry Louise Norris.
Kerry kicked off her shopping spree in Marks and Spencer, picking up some new red wine glasses, a wreath, crackers and a pot pourri tree.
Next she visited Poundland and spent a grand total of £4, before doing a big shop at Homesense, followed by Boots – talk about shop ’til you drop!
Kerry had the bright idea of turning a couple of small artificial Christmas trees she purchased from Homesense (for £7.99) into centerpieces for the dining room table – fab idea!
In another video (and being a huge Disney fan), Kerry made a video of her Disney haul from Primark. It included Christmas stockings, a shirt, a couple of make-up bags and a hooded blanket. I love seeing what goodies people are buying – the only trouble is, it makes me want to rush out and start buying more things too!
Catherine from Vintage Frills also managed to pick some Christmas decorations – from Aldi. She wanted to update her red and white Christmas tree theme this year and opted for a whole mix of baubles – from pipeapple-shapped decorations to her favourite – a kitsch set featuring a donut, ice-cream and lollypop – sounds like my cup of tea.
Best for beauty
And speaking of Aldi, in between getting Christmas gifts sorted (and doing vlogmas!), Laura from Musings of a Tired Mummy is getting herself prepped for Christmas by giving her skincare routine an overhaul.
She popped into Aldi recently to try some of the cheaper alternatives to some well known beauty products – see for yourself whether or not she thought the cheaper options were as good as her favourite go-to product.
Fashion Mommy has also been keeping her eyes on the ball when it comes to picking up seasonal bargains. On her agenda is homeware, Christmas advent deals and a selection of clothes.
And as she rightly points out, nowadays the sales shopping seems to start a month early in December, so there are plenty of goodies to be had if you look hard enough!
In next month’s round-up I’ll be sharing some of your fab January Sales bargains. You can email me your links at firstname.lastname@example.org – or feel free to join the #SnappedUp Linky where I’ll be checking out your purchases and giving away a Blogging journal for someone to win!
