Pinterest Round-up: Pinterest boards

Welcome back to the monthly Pinterest round-up.  It has been a busy month for us, as we have moved from Germany back to the UK.  We are surrounded by boxes but happy to have the move over and done with and Pinterest has certainly been a saving grace for me as we redecorate and sort out our new home!

Pinterest boards

This month we will be looking at Pinterest boards.  When I first started Pinterest I have to admit I just created some boards and named them without thinking. I am going to admit that it didn’t occur to me that I needed to think about these in a little more detail.

Perhaps you have just started using Pinterest and you are looking to set up boards and not sure where to start.  Or perhaps, like me, you have used Pinterest for a while and your boards are well…. a little disheveled. Either way it is a good idea to get your boards in order.  It is also a good idea to think about keywords when setting up your board names.

When I needed to refresh my boards, I followed this brilliant guide by Elena Peters:

Elena looks at creating board titles, populating boards, how to order your boards and how to find and use group boards.

To make your board more streamlined you can add a main cover picture to each board.  If you want some guidance on how to do this, check out this post from the lovely Aby at You Baby Me Mummy:

It doesn’t take long to sort through your boards and name them correctly.  However, it can have a massive impact on how easy it is for people to find your posts.  It all goes back to thinking about Pinterest as a search engine rather than a social media platform!

Good luck!

Summer fun (part 2)

Last month we looked at some pins which give some ideas on how to keep everyone happy and occupied over the summer holidays.  Here is the next part for inspiration:

I have set up a Pinterest board for any pins that are featured on these round-ups, you can find them all here:

If you have any posts on Pinterest that you think would work well with this round-up, I would love to see them. Or if you have any vertical pins that you would like to get featured, you can contact me here:
