Hangout: Do I need a literary agent?

You hear a lot about agents in the book publishing process, but what exactly do they do and do you need one?

We hung out with Amanda Preston, of LBA Literary Agency, who gave us the run-down on how agents help writers, when in your writing process you should approach one, and what publishers are looking for in fiction and nonfiction.

Joining us were Marianne Whooley, the BritMums blog editor who also blogs at Mari’s World, and Helen Neale, of Stickers, Stars and Smiles, talking about the projects they were working on and getting advice on where an agent fits in.

See what Amanda had to say in the video below. You can also meet Amanda at BritMums Live, where LBA will be speaking on our publishing panel and hosting 10-minute pitch sessions for bloggers interested in getting feedback on their book project. Stay tuned to the blog for more details.

Great post, thank you so much. Is Britmums live the only chance to pitch to Amanda? What if we can’t make it? 🙂 SMILES AND LOOKS HOPEFUL
