Home and Design Round-up: Time for a de-clutter

home and designHello and welcome to the second of our Home and Design Round-up posts. I do hope you enjoyed last month’s effort and took away some great ideas and inspiration for your own home – that’s what we are here for!

This month we’re looking at what you’ve been up to on the home front with many of us getting ready for Spring decorating projects. Becky at Family Budgeting is starting on the second room in her house as part of her Home Makeover on a Budget. This time she has some serious decluttering to do and I can’t wait to see how she gets on. Talking about decluttering, Emma at Emma and 3 has been busy with improving the storage in her daughter’s room. Keeping children’s rooms tidy and organised is one of the hardest jobs I reckon and she has some great ideas here on how to help. It seems stylish storage features on Alison’s mind in her post about great furniture finds on Not Another Mummy Blog. You can never have too much storage eh?!

A few people have been looking at their home office space and really getting to grips with making this work for them. Mari has really sorted out her desk area and toy storage at the same time, and I can’t quite believe she put that Ikea unit together all by herself. Hats off!  Then Antonia at Tidy Away Today has been really busy renovating her eldest son’s study space and that desk makeover is fabulous. It just goes to show what you can do with a little imagination and a bit of hunting around on Ebay. As Penny gets ready to show us her kitchen makeover (I wonder if she’ll be done for next month?), she reminds us how a simple home item from our childhood can stir lovely warm memories about times gone by.

And so who else has been busy with makeovers this month? Well Amanda at The Ana Mum Diary has done a lovely renovation on her daughter’s room. Children can grow out of their rooms as fast as their clothes it seems and keeping it relevant for them can be tricky. Amanda has done a lovely job here; it’s quite a transformation. Mum of All Trades has done something similar and her daughter’s bedroom looks gorgeous. I love that fact that many of the items in the room are upcycled and recycled; I honestly don’t know where she finds the time! I can’t wait to see Danielle’s revamp too. Over at It Started with a Squish, she’s been busy planning the look of her new room with a fabulous Moodboard. It’s a great way to really get a feel for how the room will look. Definitely something to try!

Talking of Moodboards, show some love for a new home blog, Making a House a Home, with some lovely ideas and wish boards. I’m particularly fond of this French Vintage themed bedroom – how divine is this? I also love the regular feature, Colourlish over at Lish Concepts. A simple colour moodboard giving you inspiration and ideas on how to put colour together. Mummylish really does have a fabulous eye so watch out for these.

And me, what have I been up to?  Well if you like Emerald Green (the Colour of the Year, apparently) I’ve been looking at how to incorporate it into your home interiors. I hope you like it!

Do let me know in the comments if you’ve been up to any home makeovers or found any fabulous home interiors in the last few weeks. If you regularly write about home interiors do let me know, I’d love to come and have a read!

Thanks for reading,

Thank you, Jen, for the above mention. It has been good to read the other featured blogs, too. I’ve got a few more things on the go, so I may just link up another project soon 🙂
