Charity Round-up: Heartfelt vlogs & more

charity blog posts sliderFebruary is the month of love and I am delighted to see so many bloggers showing their concern for others by supporting good causes.  I have included some videos  and encourage you to consider using them on your blog as they are certainly a very effective way of getting your message across.

Will you send your love?

Sometimes charitable giving comes from a connection with a tragic event and we are all thinking of Jennie and her family on the loss of baby Matilda Mae.  I was asked to highlight one blogger’s response to this tragedy and encourage you to read and get involved with Lisa’s initiative to support baby charity Bliss.

What would make you take your clothes off for charity?

Here is the lovely Hayley telling us why she challenged herself to get naked in her tireless campaign to raise awareness of issues surrounding Downs Syndrome.   I urge you to watch Hayley’s vlog because this was not an easy thing for her to do and it perhaps tells us a lot about womanhood as well as the cause itself.

How do you raise awareness?

Renata shows us how video can really help raise awareness particularly if it includes a beautiful boy and the story of a real family complete with funny faces. Take a few minutes to watch this inspirational film.

Where would you kiss David Beckham for charity?

You could enter  the Marathon or kiss David Beckham for charity.  Which would you do?  Check out how this mum did both to raise money for TACT and how other ladies got in on the action.

How much money makes a big difference?

When we look at some of the things in our world that need to change,  it can be easy to get disheartened.  I love this post from Kat telling us about her fundraising for UNICEF.  It gets over loud and clear that small amounts can save lives.

Is there enough food in the world for everyone?

Dorky Mum tells us that there is enough food in the world for everyone. How exciting would it be if we could see an end to hunger?  What if it only took each of us a little time out of our day to make that possible? What if we could use our blogs and social networks to make a difference?  Here is a step-by-step guide as to how to do just that and why it matters.

Calls to action

Will you support No Smoking Day with the British Heart Foundation?
Could you raise awareness of and support for pregnancy sickness?
How about getting together with other mums in aid of CLIC Sargent?

Fantastic group of posts. Plus, it’s not often that you get to see Hayley naked.
