I read somewhere recently that the latest thing to do in Paris is “Le Drunch” – a strange name for a combined lunch/dinner… It sounds much more appealing perhaps once you know what it is! After all, what’s not to like about the idea of a long leisurely lunch spilling over into dinner and [...]
About EmmaRaphael
Emma Raphael left the UK for Copenhagen in 2009, with her ever-patient husband and two small children. Having enjoyed a couple of years in Scandinavia, Emma and her family found they enjoyed Expat life so much that they now reside in Munich – where the pace of life is relaxed, her language skills are small, and the mountains and bier halls are very large. Being one half of a self-proclaimed foodie couple, Emma enjoys the new produce and restaurants in each new country she resides in, and has made it her mission to convince people that English food no longer deserves the bad rap it once had. She can be found in the kitchen when she’s feeling homesick, trying to recreate comfort food from home. She also has huge passions for travel, photography, art, wine, gardening (although according to her Bavarian neighbours, she’s not much good at that!) and her family (of course)!Author EmmaRaphael

April Foodie Round-up – Fabulous Spring ingredients
OK. It still doesn’t seem all that Spring like does it? Despite all the teasing, it surely can’t be far off can it? But whether it chooses to show its face shortly or not, there are plenty of fabulous Spring ingredients around at the moment, so we can just pretend it’s all sunshine and bouncing lambs instead… [...]

Foodie Round-up: The English Can Cook…
Did you get a chance to watch the recent BritMums Hangout with Marco Pierre White? I think we all could have spoken to him for hours about food… Once we had finished asking him our questions about turkey (there are some great cooking tips to be had in his answers by the way), I managed [...]

Foodie Round-up: Love is in the kitchen
Have you got a card ready to send to the object of your hearts desire? You have? Good. Now that’s sorted, what are you going to eat on the 14th? If you’re anything like us, you might have stopped going out on Valentine’s Day years ago. Not because we have been married for a few [...]

Foodie Round-up: The January new year healthy edition
Happy 2013 — can you believe January is here already? Of course, it’s the traditional time to start afresh and improve our lives in lots of ways. A healthier diet is at the top of the list for a lot of us. Whether you are on a mission to lose weight, or you were struck [...]

Foodie Round-Up: The Christmas Edition
We are in the midst of Christkindlmarkt Season here in Munich… Markets dot the city, and light up these dark December days with stalls piled high with Christmas food… All of it far too tempting, and usually incredibly sweet. Marzipan comes in all shapes and sizes, as does traditional gingerbread and chocolate covered fruit, not [...]

Foodie Round-up: Seasonal Food For Winter
You might think Mother Nature would be in the process of shutting up shop at the moment, but even in the depths of winter she is busy churning out Seasonal goodness to fill both your plates and your bellies. Here are some blogs that make good use of all the amazing ingredients that are at [...]

Foodie Round-up: Slow cooking edition
To me, food that takes hours to cook or to prepare can mean good things. It can mean having the luxury of time to work for hours on something delicious. It can mean something roasting slowly over the length of a day, filling the entire house with tempting aromas. And sometimes it can mean being [...]

Foodie round-up: Time savers
Just as we all begin to get back into our routines after the summer holidays, we can take some time out to put our feet up, stare across our quiet, tidy houses and think to ourselves “where the hell did that go?”. Yes, in less than a blink of an eye, it’s gone, and summer [...]
