This is such a great initiative, plus the kids get a free racket! Win-win!

  2. Karen Beddow 04 April 2017 at 16:12 #

We had such fun making the video and Lily loved telling everyone how much she liked tennis too!

  3. I love the video Lily made – what a star! This is such a great initiative. Anything that is free and encourages the kids to play outside and grab some exercise gets the thumbs up from us.

Sam, I couldn’t agree more! We have a court just around the corner from us and knowing we can now pop up and book a court is so great. The kids can play themselves or the whole family can muck in.

I cannot recommend #TennisForKids enough, my daughter loved it last year. A 6 week course with a LTA qualified coach and tennis racket – all for free! Just brilliant. The Mini Travellers film with Lily is superb, what a star.

Charly, that is so great to hear. It really is a great initiative.

We have signed our son Jack up and looking at everyone’s experiences from last year it looks amazing and is just the step up from garden tennis he has been looking and asking for. He can’t wait to get started.

    • Jennifer Howze 05 April 2017 at 08:03 #

How exciting! I got to watch some of the lessons last year and they look so fun and really usher kids from enthusiasts to little tennis players.

The LTA have done a great thing here. People can often be put off by worries that sport is expensive. Even paying for a racket can be beyond the means of some families. This way, youngsters will be encouraged into the sport whatever their parents’ income.

I love this video!! Such a great campaign, can’t wait for it to begin. Thanks for sharing x

  8. Laura - Dear Bear and Beany 08 April 2017 at 20:37 #

It’s a great campaign and a brilliant way to get children to try a sport for free!

    • Jennifer Howze 09 April 2017 at 16:23 #

Indeed! I hope you’re able to take advantage of it.

  9. The Beesley Buzz 11 April 2017 at 22:49 #

All booked up for my daughter who has just turned 5 and has been asking to play tennis for ages. What a great initiative!

    • Jennifer Howze 12 April 2017 at 09:44 #

That’s great! We can’t wait to hear how they go.

It’s such a fantastic initiative! These days, things are rarely free, even trials for children to have a go at a new sport. This 6-week course is honestly the best incentive to give a go at a new sport I have ever seen, and the fact they get a free racket if they complete the course is a big incentive for me to make sure they complete the course. I am so so glad we managed to get a place for 2 of my children for sessions close to our home. Quite a few of my friends also managed to get places for their children too.

Love that video, this is a great campaign!

  12. Rebecca | AAUBlog 21 April 2017 at 13:52 #

this is such a fab way to get kids to try something new. Love that they get a racket at the end of it all too!

  13. Tanya Hindes 21 April 2017 at 14:56 #

We’re really looking forward to our 6-week course next month. Love how they get a free racket too.

  14. John Adams 22 April 2017 at 05:52 #

My daughter Helen did #TennisForKids last year and we still play today. It was a great introduction to the sport. I also love the video with Karen and her family. Here’s hoping #TennisForKids 2017 is a success.

  15. Su {Ethan & Evelyn} 22 April 2017 at 10:30 #

It’s Ethan’s first lesson today and he is very excited! Such a wonderful initiative. Thank you.

  16. Rachel @ Coffee, Cake, Kids 22 April 2017 at 18:14 #

I think it’s a really good way of getting kids into the sport – and the fact that’s it free and they get the racket at the end is fantastic!

    • Jennifer Howze 24 April 2017 at 08:27 #

Hey Rachel, I couldn’t agree more. Often as parents we’re reluctant to buy sports equipment at the beginning of a sports interest, just because you’re not sure it’s going to stick, but then the kids need the equipment to play properly and get excited about it. It’s a win-win!

  17. Tired Mummy of Two 23 April 2017 at 18:42 #

We had such an amazing time working with you and LTA last year at the tennis sessions we attended and we are looking forward to dusting off our rackets and getting outside again

    • Jennifer Howze 24 April 2017 at 08:26 #

That’s great to hear, TMOT! It’s the perfect excuse to get active and hit some balls.

  18. Jenny 24 April 2017 at 10:20 #

Such a brilliant idea, I can’t believe it’s completely free! We’ve signed up, can’t wait to start.
