Half-term provided the BritMums community with the perfect opportunity to blow away a few cobwebs and then of course came Halloween. Any excuse to get outdoors and explore, we were there.
It seems only fitting we kick this month’s round-up off with a photograph from outgoing BritMums Editor Marianne Weekes who blogs at Mari’s World. We wish her the best of luck in her exciting new role and welcome Nadine Hill who is BritMums new Editor. Mari took this photograph while peeking through the window of Dead Man’s Hunt on her recent trip to Cornwall. You can even see the surfers waiting to catch the next wave!
Elsewhere Annie from Fable & Folk enjoyed foggy fun in a beautiful burnt gorse forest
while Jen from Mum in the Madhouse saw Whitby Abbey illuminated
and Darren from One Dad 3 Girls explored Scotney Castle.
It’s been wonderful to see so many photographs of children playing in the leaves with seemingly even more than usual this year. Favourites this month include images from Barktime,
Hollybobbs, her boy playing with his best friend,
and Berice Baby who took a walk in local woodland.
As you can imagine, there’s been a fair amount of dressing up too. You Baby Me Mummy captured her witch in the woods
plus we had scary Halloween outfits from the likes of Mama Mummy Mum
and Chelsea Mamma.
Even the babies were getting in on the act. Here’s Red Rose Mummy‘s little one dressed as a pumpkin
although there was much fun to be had in the fields too with The Oliver’s Madhouse taking full advantage!
Despite it becoming colder, we had our fair share of sunshine too. This gorgeous capture taken by Coombe Mill at Plymouth Hoe on a family day out.
As for the Doves, we’ve been dressing up and capturing the delights of autumn too. Winkworth Arboretum, managed by the National Trust, always puts on a spectacular display and this year is certainly no exception!
