December’s Video Round-up: It’s #Vlogmas!

videoWe made it to December! With Christmas just around the corner, and plenty of school plays to attend and parties to go to, you have all been very busy this month so thank you to the hardcore dedicated vloggers who sent in submissions for the round-up this month!

As YouTube vloggers have embraced #Vlogmas, I wanted to see which parenting bloggers were participating. From my Twitter shout out, only one blogger replied! Jen from Jen Jb Boutique said “Hell yes!” It’s her baby’s first Christmas so December is an exciting month for her. Here she tells us about how she is approaching #Vlogmas and this post doesn’t contain a video so watch this video for her favourite #Vlogmas vid so far!

Posting one video a day throughout December is tough – especially when we are parents and have a million other demands on our time each day, so as a compromise and a nod to #Vlogmas, I asked several busy mum bloggers to answer the question “The first thing I think about on Christmas morning is…” Here is what they said!

On my own blog, JuggleMum, I published two video posts in the last month. Firstly a review of the Dyson Mattress which involved me getting my 1950’s housewife groove on, and next a vlog for #vlogmas where I also got to play with my new Panasonic Pan Tilt Cradle!

Mari and her girls have also been reviewing a popular girls toy for Christmas The Littlest Pet Shop which shows the making of it and the girls playing. She also asked the girls what they like doing on holiday for her Perfect Holiday post.

Gemma from Hello It’s Gemma did a fab vlog for BritMums this month asking about the future of vlogging. You can see her being a YouTube sensation here.

Anna from Play At Home Teacher has done a craft tutorial showing how to make salt dough – perfect for making Christmas ornaments! Here is her post containing a video showing how to make the dough. Here is how she made the ornaments (but this post doesn’t include video!)

Lastly, Lisa from Family Life In Spain has done a post about moving to Spain and is interviewing an ex-pat who has recently moved to the country with her young family.

If you are still stuck for a Christmas gift idea or stocking filler, Nigel Camp (who presented at BritMums Live 2014) has written a book about video production called The Video Effect! Packed with tips about vlogging, it may inspire you to take your vlogging to the next level or get started, if you are still thinking about it!

Please visit each others posts and comment – remember, sharing is caring!

The theme next month is New Year – New Goals! You could vlog about your New Year’s Resolutions for 2015 or what did you achieve in 2014? What does the New Year mean to you or how will you celebrate?

As always, interpret the theme how you wish and send your blog posts containing your video to me by Friday 16th January 2015. You can tweet me, @Businessmum, or email me through my blog JuggleMum.

About Nadine Hill

Nadine is a marketer, digital creator and ex BritMums Editor who started blogging in the mid 2000's whilst working from home around her young family. Her blog JuggleMum won an award for video and covered many lifestyle subjects from fashion to food to entrepreneurship whilst also inspiring content creation for her YouTube channel @MrsNadineHill. Nadine loves hanging out with her teenage children who keep her (mostly) current - although apparently no-one says 'hanging out' any more! When she's not with her family she's at the gym or in a coffee house in Yorkshire somewhere (she's been to most of them!) - photographing her cappuccino for the grid.
