Yay for the Easter holidays and let’s hope we’re in store for lots of sunshine (and chocolate eggs of course)…for those less sunny days though or when you find yourself simply in need of some chill out time with the family, why not check out my 5 picks for fun family films to enjoy this Easter!
Hop (2011)
First off, it had to be Hop didn’t it?
Not a critical success by any means but award winning-worthy according to my 4 year old at least-I actually adore how original and quirky this family film is, thanks to Russell Brand voicing the bunny E.B and no doubt improvising his way through the film! Hop depicts the story of a rock star wannabee bunny and heir to the Easter Bunny throne who, unsatisfied with his calling, escapes to Hollywood to embark on his drumming dreams with utterly hilarious consequences!
Hop is a stunningly candy coated world so make sure you stock up on lots of chocs when you watch, because you’ll want them with this on, believe me!
Easter Parade (1948)
Set at Easter time, this classic film is a must for all, this holiday. Don Hewes (Fred Astaire) is devastated when his dancing partner, Nadine Hale (Ann Miller), decides to stop dancing together and goes solo. Anxious to show he can make it without her, Astaire decides to prove it by selecting a random chorus girl Hannah Brown (Judy Garland) and makes her a star. An epic dancing frenzy of a film, you’ll be twirling your way round your living room with this on!
Frozen (2013)
OK not Easter themed but we’ve all officially gone Frozen mad here (I was singing Let it Go) in the supermarket much to the dismay of my eldest (help me) so no doubt for the 50th, make that 100th time we’ll be watching this remarkably addictive, well made movie. Do you want to build a snowman?!
Now, if you’re heading to the cinema this Easter, make sure these movies are on your watch-list:
Muppets Most Wanted (2014)
Starring Ricky Gervais, this hysterical movie sees the Muppets on a world tour come European jewel heist headed by a Kermit look-alike and his terrible sidekick. The Muppets are seriously back to their brilliant best!
Rio 2 (2014)
The sequel to 3 D animation Rio from the producers of Ice Age (their first sequel outside of the franchise too), is a lively adventure following Blue, Jewel and their three kids as they relocate to the Amazon from Rio… Struggling to fit in, fish or birds out of water Blu finds himself going beak-to-beak with nasty Nigel, and meeting his ultimate nemesis, his father-in-law. A mad-cap, lively, exotic adventure you’ll all love this holiday!
So what films will you be watching this Easter?
