Reviews Round-up: 10 tips for writing rockin’ reviews

ReviewsIn the past year I have come across quite a few new blogs who have been started by mums to review products only. I have nothing against it, but I know there are some bloggers who don’t like that type of blogs. I personally think people should do what is right for them, and if you want to blog purely for receiving products and writing about them, then go for it. I don’t think anyone has the right to tell others what they should be blogging about.

As always, I am going to share one of my recent reviews. This time I went to check out the Sealife London Aquarium with our younger daughter Olivia. We had a fabulous time, and if you are planning to visit London this summer, this should be one of the places to go, even if you have a baby or a toddler.

If you like writing reviews, and would like to get more people reading them, then I have something for you. One of my old blogging friends Jacqui was one of the speakers at the recent BritMums Live conference, and if you missed her review product session, here are her 10 Tips for Writing Rockin’ Reviews.

I enjoyed reading about Brazilian Blow Dry. I never went for this option when I had long hair, and I used to spend loads of time straightening my hair. This sounds like a great thing to do to keep your hair nice and sleek. Have you had it done? What did you think?

With the long summer holidays just a few weeks away you might be looking for toys for outside. Children love cycling, and if you are hunting for a very sturdy looking trike, then you need to read the review of the Wagon Wood Classic Retro Trike.

My older daughter learnt how to skate on her in-line skates when she was just 4 years ago. It all started when we were spending summer with my family in the Czech Republic. As my brother and his family go in-line skating all the time, she wanted to join them too. It isn’t easy, and there were a few tears before she mastered this kind of sport. If you would like to go for the easier and safer option, get your children some roller skates, and taken them to your local park.

Walking is a great way how to keep in shape, and even if you have a little baby you can enjoy this. There are so many different slings and baby carriers out there. I tested quite a few myself when Olivia was a baby, but have never gone for the sling type of carrier. The recent review of the BabaSling Carrier has caught my eye. What do you think?

So many of us are trying to lose weight in time for summer holidays, and I believe there are so many different diets available. I believe in combining a healthy diet and loads of exercise, which keeps me staying in shape. If you are still looking for a new way how to lose weight, maybe the Weight Away Diet is the one for you. Good luck!

Butlins are well known for their family holiday offers. I went to Butlins Bognor a few years ago with Isabelle, and we had a lovely time. If you are thinking of doing the same, check out a very thorough review by Mummy From the Heart. There are some lovely pictures of the resort as well as a short video.

Cooking and baking is not one of my strongest things, but I blame it on the lack of time. I used to love cooking and baking before having children, but in the past few years really struggle to find the time. When I come across blogs like one of my favourite Mummy Mishaps, I feel like I really need to go back to this. The bread she baked looks so yummy, I hopefully will give it a go this summer when I have some help with my girls and more time to bake.

The last review I would like to draw your attention to is how you can Makeover a Room On a Budget. I absolutely loved what Liz did, and cannot believe it was under £50. I wish I had such a great talent. Check it out!

I hope you have enjoyed this Britmums Reviews Round-up, and if you would like me to read your review and maybe mention it in the next one, why don’t you add your link below, email me allbabyadvice@yahoo.co.uk or tweet me at @Kahanka.

Thanks for including my theBabaSling review. I’m always looking for tips on how to write reviews – I tend to try and weave mine in to a story rather than a purely factual, informative piece but am never sure if this is the best way.
