Video Round Up: Where do you want to go?

Video Round Up: Where do you want to go?

videoI was chatting to Mari, Britmums editor about how Britmums members are using video. It struck me that while we may not vlog as loudly and to camera, as dedicated YouTubers do, but, as a community, we do make a lot of use of video. More and more I am seeing videos embedded within posts, to illustrate a detail or capture a moment that words just can’t. I love video that takes me to new places.

Come on a journey!

Tamsin, who I met at a course two years ago that Britmums hosted around vlogging, has picked up her lovely blog Looking for Dragons again recently. She writes about outdoor adventures, I love this clip of listening to the birds. Partly because Flanborough Head is a place I have been to, but regardless of that, I love video’s ability to take us to new places.

Mari, of Mari’s World, has taken us to the beach this month, I am not jealous, honest. She certainly packed a lot into her week in Devon over half term!

If you are looking to capture time passing then look no further than Charlotte of The Crumby Mummy who has made a lovely video to mark ‘Bob’s’ second birthday. I love the way the video uses pictures and video to ‘bottle’ the year, what a fab project.

I’d like to take you to my garden if you fancy? Just a short capture of playing guitar with Daddy, with a guitar we reviewed. For once the whole family played ball, so the video fitted in neatly and felt as if it was making the photograph, and the blog post become three dimensional.

Maybe that seems to be the British parent blogging way with vlogging, casually slipping in a little video to enhance our existing blogging skills?

New vlogger of the month alert! Please give a big welcome to L of Blog of a Mum, I was so captivated watching her daughter finger painting. I love the voiceover approach.

Finally I am hoping the video I edited together for the Britmums Live butterflies will help people recognise the friendly faces who are there to chase away the butterflies and help people to be social butterflies at the conference. The butterflies have a dedicated area this year so do come along and say hello!
