So who’s still unwinding from Britmums Live then? I know I am, but what a fabulous inspiring weekend. Speaking on the Style Panel was a big highlight for me and if you came and got involved in the discussion, thank you for supporting us. I hope we inspired you to write more about homes, style and fashion but if not, and you just enjoy ‘looking’ then grab a cuppa and enjoy this month’s roundup.
In the last few weeks we have seen a huge amount of home and garden makeover style posts so it seemed fitting that I dedicate this roundup to the mini makeover! Firstly let’s look at how some people have been getting busy with the paintbrush, creating beautiful spaces for themselves.
Violet Posy has given her fireplace a lovely mini makeover to create something with more drama and impact. And it was so simple!
Becky continues with her Family Budgeting makeovers on a budget, this time giving the kitchen a long needed overhaul (her words!), with remarkable results. I did give her a little encouragement to use more colour but what you do think of the end result?
As for me, well I finally finished my home office makeover and I can’t tell you how it has changed my working day; it’s been amazing. I love that noticeboard.
And Rachel from Corner by Corner has created the most stylish child’s playhouse that you will ever see. I bet the children are delighted. (I love the debate over which order she should hang the children’s initials!).
In fact this last month has seen a rise in the number of home improvement posts due to a creative competition run by a very popular money orientated website. The Room for Improvement challenge saw lots of bloggers having a go at updating a room for just £50 and in turn, gave me lots of extra home and style posts to read. I’ve picked out a few of my favourites to show but do link yours up in the comments if you want to tell us what you got up to.
Mammasaurus gave Ozzie’s bedroom a stylish and creative makeover doing away with Elmer décor, almost. Whilst Mummylish gave Littlelish the prettiest budget makeover, including some proper curtains at last (she knows I’m teasing!) Kitchens also had an inspired makeover for just £50 with Antonia from Tidy Away Today finding some bargain cushions for the seating area of hers, and Emma added splashes of colour and meaningful wall art. The Ana Mum Diary added style and colour to her outdoor eating area (we all love HomeSense don’t we?) and finally I loved that Liz from Me and My Shadow, tackled her downstairs loo and created a stylish, organised haven.
So June was the month for mini makeovers, but what will July bring? I’m hoping for more garden improvements so do find me on Twitter and let me know if you’d like to be featured next month.
See you then
