MBPWAs the Easter holidays draw to a close AND the Spring springs on us at long last, what have you got planned for the weekend?

We are taking our caravan out of hibernation and giving the old lady a good spring clean. I have invested in a television with DVD incorporated for chilly evenings, some great colourful picnic ware to dine with and a few cushions and throws to lighten her up a bit and make her feel new again. The girls adore that kind of easy-going weekend and I must admit I do too; dad will take the girls swimming and I get to read a book!

Did you join the BritMums book club? We’ve all been sent Honour to read by Elif Shafak and I haven’t had a chance to look at it yet, so I’m packing that first. If you haven’t joined and you like reading, come join in the club with us.

Spring is also the time of year for me to start some DIY projects at home and my latest brainwave is a reading corner for the girls in their room, I’ve seen spice racks painted and used for book shelves and cushions and voile used to make a light den to read in so I have plenty of inspiration to draw from. My biggest mistake was conferring with the little people about this idea as every day since they have been asking me where it is!

This week the BritMums team are going to be super busy sifting through all the BiBs nominations, I got mine in on time and I sent a couple of tweets out to remind other shirkers like myself so I hope you managed to do it. Of course as I’m working for BritMums I can’t be nominated and therefore won’t be up for a prize which may make me sound like Mutley – anyone else remember my favourite dog from Wacky Races who lived for winning prizes? But there are some fabulous prizes and some excellent sponsors backing the awards. If you’ve been nominated you’re in with a chance.

We’ll be drawing up shortlists for each category with 16 contenders, 11 with the top nominations and and an extra five chosen by the BritMums team so you really could be in with a chance. The shortlist will be published on 22nd April.

For my best post of the week and for the last time, or maybe not, I indulged in a little wedding reminiscence and wrote how I found Jay Mountford my chosen wedding photographer. I’ve put up a ton of photos… ok about 10 ….ish.

Right time to rummage through your posts from the last week and decide which is the jewel in the crown, which one would you like to get another airing? Add it to the Linky below and try to visit some other links if you can.

One last shout out for any posts on Margaret Thatcher… Sonya Cisco is putting together a round-up of all views, the Good the Bad and the Ugly so if you want to be included make sure she gets your post find the info on her Politics Round-up

Have a great week all

Ooo, yes, the book club sounds like a great idea! Must click on that and check it out. And yes, I’m trying to get started on some projects now that it’s spring (andtoday looks to be a gorgeous day… at last!), mine are mostly in the garden.

I won’t be writing any posts on Margaret Thatcher–I’m not political enough to have anything intelligent to say on the subject. My contribution to the topic of the former PM is always about how I met her once, when I was working in a bookshop in London and she had written her diaries and was doing a tour of signings. Anyone who has met me knows I’m kind of short (I’m 5’4″) but she was much smaller than me, she was tiny and petite! I never expected that as the photos/video always make her look much taller.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing the other posts up here this weekend!!

I can’t believe she was smaller than you! Like you say she looks so tall in the photos. Have a great weekend

I love the idea of a reading corner made all cosy for them – I think I’m going to copy your brilliant idea for my little ones!
