What an interesting video, actually some good tips here. I have a 12 and 14yr old, both boys and we mainly camp- no funds to head abroad although we would love to! This video mainly made me feel normal actually LOL I will definitely take away the advice to let them sleep, and not cram every moment with stuff. As we camp our eldest helps with the tent (it’s huge!)but our youngest can be disruptive so he is given the job of finding where everything is and what facilities are there……..it works just for the set up anyway :)

So sorry I couldn’t make the hangout earlier this week but thanks for including my tips in the video.

Some great points here – the sleep issue and trying different foods on holiday I would very much agree with. My son became a huge fan of fish when we were in Portugal two years ago: battered cod won’t cut the mustard any more in our house!

Agree with teen clubs – we booked a camping trip in the Dordogne a few years ago because of the teen facilities and my lad didn’t use them at all whereas he loved a small dose of kids’ club when he was younger.

I would say we love travelling with our teen now – it’s such a pleasure to sit with him in the evening on holiday and just talk. We all become very good friends when we are on holiday.
