Kirstie is probably best known as property expert and co presenter of Location Location Location. She’s also been a driving force behind the recent trend towards upcycling and restoring vintage finds. She’s invigorated the world of crafting, inspiring us to dig out forgotten treasures and with a bit of imagination, create something new and beautiful for our homes. In her recent series and book, Kirstie’s Vintage Home, she shows us how easy it is to take something ordinary and make it special.
Growing up in Wiltshire, the eldest of four children, her father worked for Christie’s Auctioneers and her mother was an interior designer and her passion for property and tastes in interiors have been heavily influenced by both her parents. More recently her inspiration has come from her partner Ben who’s a property developer specialising in regenerating old buildings and her parents in law, who for fifty years have run an incredible antique shop called the Lacquer Chest on Kensington Church Street.
Kirstie gives a great deal of time to various charities but currently her main focus is promoting the work of HomeStartUK, the Prince’s Foundation for Building Communities and Keep Britain Tidy. All of these charities encourage people to take back control of their lives, their homes, their streets and their communities.
She lives with her partner Ben and has two children and two step children. They spend their time living between London and Devon.
BritMums Live is 21-21 June at The Brewery in London. Limited tickets are still available.
