Well it’s not quite here is it? And what a shame as it’s usually a great time for getting on with jobs about the house, tackling the winter garden and generally doing a little DIY across the Easter weekend. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that the weather improves.
So what has everyone been up to over the last month on the Home front? It’s a great time for those of us interested in interior design and home makeovers as the last fortnight has seen the Ideal Home Show come to London. I’m really looking forward to my trip later this week, but Violet Posy looks like she had a great time mingling with Kirstie Allsop and George Clarke no less (I do hope George is still there when I go!).
I am always impressed by the DIY recycling and upcycling projects you all get up to as I’m useless in this field. This month I’ve loved Mum of All Trades’ gorgeous fabric lampshade including tutorial and images to help you have a go yourself. Tidy Away Today has a few lovely posts this month on upcycling old furniture but my favourite has to be this coffee table and the ‘Drawer of Doom’ (we all have one of these don’t we?!). If, like me, you’re always on the lookout for upcycling ideas and projects check out Becky’s amazing ideas for upcycling teacups. Honestly, you wouldn’t have thought some of these possible, and they’re so cute!
Toy storage is an issue that never goes away and we’re always trying to improve it. Growing Spaces has an amazing solution for storing toy cars. You wouldn’t want the children playing with them though! And Feisty Tapas has been creating a great under stairs den come play area which has been a huge hit with children and adults alike. Mummylish has also been hunting for extra space in her new home and taking a look at what’s on offer at a well known brand, but what caught my eye was the beautiful moodboard she has put together for her daughter’s new room. Just divine! And finally on the subject of storage and decluttering, Lottie at Oyster and Pearl is launching Project Simplify on a monthly basis so we can all share our decluttering ideas and experiences, so why not hop over there and show her some support.
For those of you thinking of doing a little home makeover this Easter why not take inspiration from some of these ladies. Cherry Menlove, who will be speaking at Britmums Live this year, has given her fireplace a gorgeous makeover with some beautiful styling and Penny at the Alexander Residence is just at the beginning of a kitchen revamp bathed in red. If you want to see us planning the design in one of her fabulous vlogs do take a look! I just love the makeover Kerry has given her kitchen which just shows how a little imagination and some hard work can work wonders. That bureau looks fabulous too! And finally Ginger Bisquite has given us another lovely Stylish Sunday moodboard of her ideal bedroom colour scheme.
As for me, I love the Monochrome interior trend at the moment and so I’ve showcased this fabulous black and white wallpaper that would really give your room a wow factor! Great for a mini makeover this coming weekend.
Please do leave us a comment or tweet me @lovechicliving if you’d like to share your home interior finds or makeover projects. I would love to take a look!
