Notes from Ghana: Nerves are kicking in #goodwork

Mummy Barrow updates us on the blogger trip to Ghana for Red Nose Day. Here’s the latest from the road:

Nerves are really kicking in now. There has been so much planning and organization that we haven’t really had time to think about the trip itself.

And I don’t mind telling you its emotional. The outpouring if support has been incredible. Overwhelming in fact. Since the three of us announced on Thursday what we were up to we have been inundated with messages of support and gifts to pass on. And that is very humbling.

So we finally arrived late last night after 12 hours on the road. Tired but ready to get started today.  First we are off to the Virtuous Women and Children Bakery to help make bread with the ladies.

Then this afternoon we are off to meet two ladies who have set up their own businesses in one of Accra’s slums. And to a school that was founded by another lady.

It’s going to be a long day but we are all really keen to see how women in Ghana are making a real difference to their family’s lives.

Join our #GoodWork Twitter party tomorrow from 11-12 in support of Comic Relief. We are sharing our favourite memories of Red Nose Day.

Today’s #snaphappybritmums theme is BREAD, please share your pics and tag using #snaphappybritmums and #goodwork.

This note is from Mummy Barrow, who is in Ghana reporting back on the #goodwork Comic Relief has done in Africa. She’ll be sending us daily updates. Read more about the trip over at TeamHonk.
