Your favourite family recipe provides your family with the nutrition they need while also satisfying the tastes of children and adults. Now, your family recipe can be part of a programme with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), and could win you a short break family holiday (see T&Cs for details) or vouchers to Merlin attractions!
BritMums has teamed up with Tilda to promote its initiative with the WFP in donating 300,000 meals to mothers in Bangladesh, to give their unborn children the best start in life. Low birth weight can seriously affect babies’ physical and cognitive development, so it’s essential they receive vital nutrition from the start.
For every specially marked pack sold of Tilda Pure Basmati Rice (1kg), Tilda will provide one nutritious meal to a new or expectant mum. In addition, Tilda will also be launching a Mums Helping Mums Cookbook app, available to download from the Tilda website from 1st March.
Bloggers who submit their recipes for inclusion in its new cookery book app are automatically entered to win a family short break or £50 worth of Merlin adventure vouchers (see T&Cs for details). Your recipe doesn’t necessarily have to include rice.
Winners will be picked by third party based on nutritional value, combination of flavours and ingredients, and appropriateness for feeding family members of a variety of ages, as well as presentation of the recipe, including attractive images.
Here’s how to take part:
- Post a family recipe on your blog or pick one you’ve already posted, making sure it includes the sentence: “This post is part of the #FaveFamilyRecipes Competition with BritMums and Tilda Rice. Every pack sold will provide a meal to an expectant mum in need in support of the World Food Programme’s Mothers Helping Mothers initiative in Bangladesh.” We’d appreciate it if you would link back to this competition page.
- Include the post in the Linky below and tweet it to @BritMums using the #FaveFamilyRecipes hash tag.
- Be sure to post by 21 January 2013.
- That’s it!
So don’t delay. Dig out your recipe that keeps your family happy and healthy and submit it today!
Be sure to read the Terms & Conditions.
