MBPWHave you slowed down a bit this past week or has Christmas been utterly exhausting for you?

I have had immense fun but boy I feel as I’ve run a marathon, I need a few days to get back to fighting fit as the toil of entertaining takes it’s toll on me.

I’m looking forward to a quiet New Year’s Eve with the Mister and digging out a great game called ‘The Game of Life’ which is one of those that goes on forever so it should keep us amused for a while. Do you have any ‘vintage’ games knocking around? My brother asked me to find him a vintage Monopoly for his present, I sent him a link of a used Monopoly game on eBay and he said it was perfect. Had I known I would have nicked mums’ when I was last there!

So vintage is a cooler term for used right? And anything old goes, is that it?

Maybe then 2013 will be the culmination of spending wisely and ending the continual need for renewal and new?

What will 2013 mean for you?

Have you got plans, wishes, dreams? Jenny Paulin at Mummy Mishaps will be hosting the BritMums Carnival on 1st January 2013 and she’d like to include all of your posts that are looking forward to making 2013 the best year yet. Please do check out her post and get something over to her by 6pm on 31st December – even earlier if you can so she too can prepare for a fab last night of 2012.

As New Year’s Eve is approaching fast I need to make sure you’re already to party with RED underwear as I was explaining to Maggy at Red Ted Art earlier this month, if you need a healthy dollop of good luck in the coming year then please check out this fun post and make sure you’re ready to grab your fair share of good fortune.

Have a wonderful New Year’s Eve everyone, I wish you all immense good luck and a year full of love, joy and laughter, may your dreams come true

    Hi Mari

So interested to see you spent half your life in Italy! Whereabouts? I lived there for most of my twenties and still get ‘nostalgia’ for it even now. I also dabble in the kitchen and garden and have just published my first fiction book, The Class Ceiling, after four years hard slog to get an agent…it’s been quite a roller coaster! What are you writing? I would love to be published in three languages, but also dream of 25! But as you say, the most important thing is to be a good mum, woman and friend. Here’s to you! Happy New Year.

      Hi Kerry,

I was in the north in a mountain village called Folgaria in the province of Trentino. I try to get back every year as my two older children still live out there.

Congrats on publishing your first book!

My great grandfather left his memoirs and they are fascinating talking of the Austro-Hungarian empire there is so much vivid detail I’d love to weave it into a story – 25 languages? Yes please!

Nice to have ‘met’ you and Happy New Year to you too

Oh how lovely to have a link with Italy that means you have to go back! And lucky you to have an interesting memoir to work from. I bet that must make incredible reading…would love to see you make a story from that…UCLA (University of California) does fantastic online creative writing courses, including, I think, one on memoirs. Might be a project for the new year…

Haha! I like your style and I will check out their courses thanks for thinking of me. I really must make it a project for 2013…
