#ONEMums: On the road again

We’re up with the dawn this morning to fly from Behar Dar back to Addis Ababa for the final leg of what has been an inspirational and eye-opening trip.

I’ll be blogging once I’m back at in Addis. Until then, here’s a picture I took yesterday on the boat to visit a monastery on Lake Tana. The monastery featured 700-year-old paintings (I’ve got some great pictures to share) and the monk showed our group a holy book written on goat skin.

On the lake, we saw locals paddling around in these reed boats, and when our driver turned on the Ethiopian pop music on the boat, they paddled over to say hello and see what this group of Brits and Americans were up to.

It looks like this teenage boy is paddling two younger companions home from school — the school run, Ethiopian-style.
