A new scolastic year has kicked off and on that note we thought we’d throw a party! A community building Back to Blogging party to encourage everyone in the 4000 strong BritMums community to get to know one another, say hello to newcomers and find some interesting blogs to follow that you may have missed.
Everyone wants to increase their readership, up the number of followers, likers and Pinteresters and the latest buzz on the street Google + are you on there? Want to know how to do it? Take a look at our Google + Master Class series and get yourself up and running.
Sometimes we’re so busy we forget to comment, we forget to Like someone’s Facebook page, follow them on Twitter or on Pinterest so we’re going to spend one week sharing our various URL’s and brushing up our social media skills. It will be like a BritMums directory, a constant on the blog and a great referral point for us, you and who know’s who’s looking in? Keep that thought.
Make sure you get seen too. Come visit every day this week and add your URL’s as they come up.
Each day we’ll put up a Linky where you can join in and get connected
Monday - your blog URL with a thumbprint image of your blog
Tuesday - your Twitter URL
Wednesday - your Facebook page URL
Thursday - your Pinterest URL
Friday - your Google + profile
Today is Blog day, I have chosen the Thumbnail Linky you’ll be asked to add an image of your blog, click on Web and you’ll be offered a choice of images picked up from your front page. click on the one you want and you’re done. Instead if you have an image to upload then click on the upload image and fire away.
It’s common practise to use the header or logo as this will be instantly recognisable when readers land on your blog. All of your social media should have a similar/same logo, a theme running through them so it makes sense to think about what you want to use from the start. Today!
While we’re at it, why not critique your blog and take five minutes to read through the BritMums articles click on this image in the sidebar for more tips that you can shake a stick at. Look at your blog with fresh eyes and see where improvements can be made.
Add yourselves to the Linky below and if you can try and visit a couple of others leaving a comment and get to know more bloggers, build up your personal community and this is where you start!

I’ve tried to add my Linky, but when I click on a thumbnail image from the blog, something goes wrong.
Fiona have you tried using the upload image button and upload your logo directly into place? That works just as well

I’m not sure what my logo is, to be honest. the uploader wouldn’t work with thumbnail images from my blog, so I just used an image of me. Thanks!
