How can you say no to that?! When you shop online this summer for everything from swimming costumes to garden equipment you can shop through a portal that will allow you to direct a portion of your money towards a charity of your choice–without spending any extra money. The retailer spends money on online services and through Give as you Live (GAYL) this money is actually redirected by the retailer to your specified charity.
All you have to do to redirect this money is register with Give As You Live.
That is really all you have to do.
We are excited about our campaign to get more mums to shop through this service, sponsored by Give As You Live.
Then every time you shop, with no extra effort by you, that money will go to your charity of choice. Talk about an easy Feel Good Factor!
Now as you think about your summer reading or suntan lotions, you can check out the 2000+ stores registered with Give As You Live.
Each time you shop, your charity gets a percentage. It could be 1.5% or it could be as much as 6%!
Want to see what the experts, BritMums Give as you Live Ambassadors have to say?
I have been doing this for a few months now as I am an Ambassador for Give as You Live and have raised nearly £20 for Victim Support. Hasn’t cost me a penny. Hasn’t cost any of my friends a penny from their net income. I haven’t had to badger people with a sponsor form, yet I have made £20 for a cause close to my heart in just two months. If I carry on it could be £120 in a year.
We all have the best intentions about giving to charity, but finding the money can be tricky. Estimates suggest charity giving is down 50%. It’s not surprising, in these uncertain times. When people’s circumstances change, donations and direct debits to charity are often one of the first things to go. I posted recently about the creative accountancy that was required to enable our family to sponsor a child through Action Aid, but now we can do this easily though Give as you Live.
I have a few birthdays coming up and Hallmark is one of the over 2000 retailers who pledge to donate a percentage of their commission of my sale to charity; a quick peek tells me today they’re offering a whopping 9%!!
I shop and pay the price of my shopping only no extras just a normal shop and shortly later I receive an email from Give As You Live to say, ‘Thank you Marianne, we’ve just donated xx pence to (here goes the name of your charity).’
The best news is you you can buy your car insurance, house insurance, clothes, toys and more. Just about everyone’s favourite retailers have signed up, check the list and see for yourself and it doesn’t cost you a penny more.
I shop online, usually just the general supermarket shop but also for presents and flowers on occasion. In future, every time I do this a percentage of what I spend will go to Tommy’s to help fund their work. I won’t pay a single penny more for my goods. In fact, I will be alerted to special offers that save me money by Give As You Live. It is the retailers I spend with who will see that money goes to charity.
And now it’s your turn! Sign up to give to charity as you shop online here, or if you’re already signed up, tell us about the charity you have chosen in the comments below!

Give As You Live is a no-brainer, money for the charity of your choice at no extra cost to you. Why wouldn’t you sign up? You have the key to unlocking money and helping charities help others
I recently found out about Voucherry and signed up to see what’s all about. First, I had to complete the sign up form and choose my favorite cause. Now, at each purchase I’m making on Voucherry or from their partner stores, my favorite cause is getting a donation. I invited my family and friends too, because they support the same cause and for each of their purchase, a donation is made to the cause too. Now, I know that there are cash involved, but for daily, usual shopping that we do anyways. Seems that these days is very simple to do good.
Our area of expertise is cars, not taxes therefore Acura Maryland encourages all drivers to contact a tax professional before claiming car expenses as a tax deduction
I love these websites that help charity while you get to shop! The fact that it costs nothing extra but charity can still benefit is great. I’ve been using a great website called vouchers4charity for a couple of years now. It sells gift cards and vouchers for loads of high street stores, supermarkets and on line retailers. I’ve used it for Christmas for both gifts and to budget gift buying. They even do personalised git wallets too. It really is worth a look!
*Gift not git – now that’s not very charitable!
