The smell of the water, the sounds of laughter, the sight of dads belly-flopping and children splashing – a day out at the swimming pool evokes strong memories of family time and fun. Now you can share those memories with our Joy of Swimming Linky and be in with a chance to win a year-long family pass to theme parks and zoos or £250 to spend on swim kit, thanks to British Gas.
Best of all, you can take the children swimming for free with the British Gas Free Swims for Britain programme. The company is providing free swims this summer as part of their support for British Swimming. The offer is for 1 adult and up to 2 children at pools across the UK (you don’t even have to be a British Gas customer to participate) and some pools are even offering free swimming classes or lessons too.

Hi BritMums,
Great blog and like to say we must encourage our kids for swimming as swimming improve muscle strength, acrobatic capacity and makes hips, shoulders, back and arms muscles strong.Swimming is great cardio exercise to lose weight by burning fat and regulating metabolism.
I was doing great! (I started early, about two weeks ago) but today I am quite drmltaicaaly OFF plan sparkle. Just 24 hours furlough then tomorrow I will be back on again.I agree! Getting off on the right foot is soooo important. I’ve shifted my morning routine a little to fit in ten-fifteen minutes of exercise (usually yoga or something gentle) as well as breakfast etc on a work day it sets me up for the whole day. I’m also trying to do 30 minutes a day of something else cardio-ish ( ish =walking, dancing around my room to the glee soundtrack, whatevs and that is helping no end with keeping me feeling sparkly and energised and happy. It is amazing how much difference eating well (and not obsessing about the occasional cupcake) and doing just a little bit of exercise has made my mood shoot up.Happy Easter, FT! xxx
