Twitter loopholes and the bulging male crotch: How safe IS your account?

According to ABC News, a US congressman was suprised when this photo (right) appeared in his Twitter stream.

The theory is that someone hacked into his yfrog account and posted the photo without the account holder’s knowledge. To do this all someone would need is the email address associated with the account.

Yfrog’s email posting service is currently down, one can guess because they have detected this security threat. But with all the cool Twitter apps around, it poses the question: How safe is your Twitter account?

This is slightly frightening actually. We seem to take it for granted that we’re safe on Twitter. We (well I) post pictures of our families, ourselves, our children…we tell where we are, where we’re going… Perhaps we all should be a bit more wary??
    Great topic Susanna.

Nice photo! The recommendation is to change your password often. Apart from that I’m not sure what else we can do to protect our accounts.
